S6HS Milling Machines Health & Safety Training
This fully accredited practical training course covers the safe use of milling machines, in line with The Design & Technology Association’s guided hours for Initial Training:
- Milling Machines (4-6 hours)
Note 1: When Refresher Training is required, D&TA’s guided hours for milling machines can be reduced to 3-4 hours.
A typical day runs from 08:30-16:00 including starter and plenary tasks.
Wherever possible, we recommend hosting the training at your own school or college, using your own machines and equipment – this ensures the session is highly relevant to your department.
During the S6HS training delegates complete practical tasks using a vertical milling machine including setup, clamping blanks, use of end mills, slot drills and fly cutting.
Over the course of the day your equipment is also discussed in depth during a ‘mini audit’ and a range of maintenance activities are carried out, as required.
After the session, delegates receive a digital download pack containing current legislation, guidance materials and a range of editable H&S resources.
All activities meet current D&T Association Training Standards.
Book today to ensure your team is confident and compliant when using milling machines – practical, hands-on training delivered by experienced D&T Health & Safety Consultants.
