S4HS Metal Arc Welding Health & Safety Training
This fully accredited practical training course covers the safe use of metal arc welding equipment, in line with The Design & Technology Association’s guided hours for Initial Training:
- MMA (3 hours)
- MAG (3 hours)
- MIG (3 hours)
- TIG (3 hours)
- Spot Welding (1 hours)
Note 1: It is usually possible to cover up to 6 hours of ‘hands-on’ training in a full day as a bespoke course that is tailored to your particular needs.
Note 2: When Refresher Training is required, D&TA’s guided hours for MMA, MAG, MIG and TIG welding can be reduced to 2 hours each.
A typical day runs from 08:30-16:00 including starter and plenary tasks.
Wherever possible, we recommend hosting the training at your own school or college, using your own equipment – this ensures the session is highly relevant to your department.
During the S4HS training delegates develop practical skills in a ‘hands-on’ approach covering MMA, MAG, MIG, TIG and Spot Welding.
Over the course of the day, your equipment is also discussed in depth during a ‘mini audit’ and a range of maintenance activities are carried out, as required.
After the session, delegates receive a digital download pack containing current legislation, guidance materials and a range of editable H&S resources.
All activities meet current D&T Association Training Standards.
Book today to ensure your team is confident and compliant in all metal arc welding processes – practical, hands-on training delivered by experienced D&T Health & Safety Consultants.
