S3HS Casting Non-Ferrous Metals Health & Safety Training
This fully accredited practical training course covers the safe use of sand casting with non-ferrous metals, in line with The Design & Technology Association’s guided hours for Initial Training:
- Casting Non-Ferrous Metals (4-6 hours)
Note: When Refresher Training is required, D&TA’s guided hours for Casting Non-Ferrous Metals can be reduced to 3-4 hours.
A typical day runs from 08:30-16:00, including starter and plenary tasks.
Wherever possible, we recommend hosting the training at your own school or college, using your own equipment – this ensures the session is highly relevant to your department.
As such equipment needs clear guidance for safe use, the S3HS course is a must-have for anyone wishing to demonstrate or use the sand casting process in a school environment. Delegates will acquire H&S accreditation through a ‘hands-on’ approach, which includes the manufacture of an aluminium casting.
During the training your casting facilities are discussed in depth as part of a ‘mini audit’ and a range of maintenance activities are also carried out, as required.
After the session, delegates receive a digital download pack containing current legislation, guidance materials and a range of editable H&S resources.
All activities meet current D&T Association Training Standards.
This course is suitable for teachers, technicians and other staff who are required to use this equipment.
Book today to ensure your team is confident and compliant when casting non-ferrous metals – practical, hands-on training delivered by experienced D&T Health & Safety Consultants.
