S6HS Milling Machines Health & Safety Training
This fully accredited practical training course covers the safe use of milling machines, in line with The Design & Technology Association’s guided hours for Initial Training:
- Milling Machines (4-6 hours)
Note 1: When Refresher Training is required, D&TA’s guided hours for milling machines can be reduced to 3-4 hours.
This course will enable delegates to acquire H&S accreditation certification through a ‘hands on’ approach using a Vertical Milling Machine for shaping metals and plastics to complete a range of set tasks including; setting up the mill, clamping blanks plus use of end mills, slot drills and fly cutting.
A typical day runs from 08:30-16:00 including the starter and plenary tasks, and it is also preferable that this training takes place at your own school/college (using your own specific machine) where possible.
In addition to the ‘hands on’ requirements of the training, your machine is discussed in depth when undertaking a ‘mini audit’ and a range of maintenance activities are also carried out, as required.
Following the session delegates will receive a digital download pack which includes current legislation, guidance materials and a range of editable H&S resources.
All the activities conform to the current D&T Association Training Standards.
