This fully accredited practical H&S training course covers the following woodsawing machines, in line with The Design & Technology Association’s guided hours for Initial Training:

• Circular Table Saw (3 hours)
• Narrow Bandsaw (3 hours)
• Chopsaw (1 hour)
• Radial Arm Saw (1 hour)
• Vertical Panel Saw (1 hour)

Note 1: For Refresher Training, D&TA’s guided hours for the circular table saw and narrow bandsaw can be reduced to 2 hours each.

A typical day runs from 08:30-16:00 including the starter and plenary tasks, and it is also preferable that this training takes place at your own school/college (using your own specific machines and equipment) where possible.

During the training each machine is discussed in depth when undertaking a ‘mini audit’ and a range of maintenance activities are also carried out, as required.

Following the session delegates will receive a digital download pack which includes current legislation, guidance materials and a range of editable H&S resources.

All the activities conform to the current D&T Association Training Standards.

Note 2: Woodsawing Machines Training courses are also regularly hosted at other centres (accessed via Upcoming Events), which is more cost effective if only one or two members of staff require S1HS training.
